Online dating sites and apps have increased dramatically in popularity over the last 3 years, and this trend doesn’t look like stopping any time soon. At Amourlife we have tried and tested the majority of the most popular sites, and apps available to Australian’s. Contained below are our independent reviews. By far the most popular online dating site in Australia. As stated on their website 69% of Australian online dates use RSVP.

Pros: Huge range of users in Australia provides a great choice of potential partners, the best choice for Australian users

Cons: Expensive messaging

Lavalife

Popular in the early 2000’s due to extensive television advertising for Lavalife’s online and telephone dating (Yes this was a real thing). However in 2015 it seems Lavalife has given up on the Australian market.

Pros: Range of dating options from dating, relationship and intimate, in addition to cheap messaging

Cons: Very few Australian users left, watch tumbleweed go past your screen after searches.

Tinder

A mobile dating app which has grown to become part of mainstream society

Pros: Free, Fast matching, and messaging, Online dating on Crack

Cons: Has been infiltrated by prostitution, in addition mainstream media popularity has led to large number of users who use the app for fun, and not looking to meet anyone in the real world.

Zoosk

One of the original mobile dating apps

Pros: Due to being less mainstream than Tinder, users are more likely to be genuinely looking to meet other singles.

Cons: Expensive at $29 per month. And that’s before they bill your credit card for random items which you have no knowledge of.

OkCupid

Enables matching based compatibility in values, determined by answers to a series of questions on signup. Unlike Tinder, and Zoosk, OkCupid also allows a more detailed profile.

Pros: Allows matching based on values, and has a large number of Australian users.

Cons: Requires a significant time investment to create a full profile, and answer questions.
